In the example below, we have a list of state names that we need to separate into name and state. Follow the steps below to separate your name and state from this. 1. Select the range to be separated. Eg A1:A5. 2. Navigate to the Data Tab and select Text to Columns. 3. You will be presented with the dialogue box shown below; select Delimited and click Next. 4. Uncheck all of the check boxes in Delimiters and check the Space box. because we want to separate names with a space as the delimiter in this example 5. Select Next and then Finish.
