The tested basic refractories were magnesia-spinel and magnesia–zirconia (MZ) refractory bricks. Chemical analysis of the used cement kiln dust and the lime was conducted. Microstructural changes were examined using scanning electron microscope before and after chemical treatment of the studied soil.  The course will be divided into three modules lasting two weeks each, with all three modules delivered over a continuous six-week period.
